5 reasons why people buy

So here’s a short list for all you startups grinders out there! Stick along and we will provide you with 5 main reasons why people buy? The reasons are worth considering and can be helpful in your strategic marketing or customer interactions and can set a path for your corporate communications.

Well let’s get to it:

Saves time or effort

If it saves time or effort you are on to something. Convenience is the buzzword and you should always convey why and how buying your product will make your customers life easier.

fun or enjoyment

The promise of fun and enjoyment is a strong incentive for buying. Creating value for your customer through joy can be a solid way of winning over customers, if it's backed by a solid product, service og experience.

saves or boost money

Probably the ultimate argument for buying a product or a service is to save or boost money. The prospect of earning or saving has driven the economy for centuries.

gives peace of mind

Let your customers know how buying your product or service can make a difference in their life or in the lives of others. It's all about talking to that collective conscience that we all carry. This can be related to everything from buying insurance to giving money to an NGO. Giving peace of mind is also a common attribute for products or services that relate to environmental sustainability. But remember to lay off the “green washing” pleace!

appeals to image or ego

People are vain and that's not said with any form of negativity. From a commercial perspective, if anything, it's a positive attribute. It’s not easy to get your product or service in a brand position where you can appeal to image or ego on a broad scale. But a feeling of exclusivity in your branding is never a bad idea.
